Zanetto Civil were engaged by the City of Launceston to deliver renewal of the Cataract Gorge Cliff Grounds Sewage Pump Station Project. Set within the Cataract Gorge National Park, the project included renewal of the incoming pipework from the adjacent restaurant and toilet, renewal of the existing wet well and pipework and installation of improved access.

The project included challenges related to restricted access, steep terrain, environmentally sensitive flora and fauna and high pedestrian traffic.

Zanetto Civil overcame constructability challenges through re-design of the new wet well components and utilisation of minimal impact construction practices such as trenchless pipe renewal technologies.

The project successfully delivered a renewed sewer system for the area which has improved reliability and functionality, and reduced odor and risk of environmental spillage.
